Restriction digests of the clone give the following sizes (kb): PstI--4.35, 0.89; HindIII--5.3; BamHI--4.8, EcoRI--4.8. This is a cDNA derived from an exon of the GdX gene, a gene located 40 kb downstream of the G6PD gene and which is transcribed in the same direction as the G6PD gene. The insert contains sequences 5' to and overlapping pGD6405. The insert detects mRNA derived from the G6PD gene. |
